Through fieldwork. lectures and interaction with students with different backgrounds, students learned about the environmental and urban issues faced by developing countries, including environmental pollution surrounding Lake Laguna (Lake Bae), the largest lake in the Philippines.

University students from Japan and abroad gather to learn about environmental and urban issues faced by developing countries while interacting in English.

  • April 2018:Determination of destination, selection of program contents with relevant institutions
  • May-June 2018:Having orientation for students and recruitment of participating students
  • June 2018-Pre departure:Having studies for students to learn the environmental issues in developing countries and to learn how to discuss in English

  • Provided an opportunity for students with diverse backgrounds to communicate in English across the borders.
  • Provided opportunities to experience firsthand the differences in infrastructure, security, and culture through actual fieldwork. Particularly, the changes in the local weather, the students were given the opportunity to think about climate change through actual phenomena.
