What is CITYNET’s disaster cluster?The CITYNET Disaster Cluster was established in 2005 in response to the 2004 Sumatra Earthquake and Indian Ocean Tsunami, and the 2005 Kashmir Earthquake. The Disaster Cluster has been implementing various projects such as the reconstruction of a school in Pakistan, construction of a community center in Sri Lanka and Indonesia and exchanging of information on crisis management between members. The current Lead-City of the Cluster is the City of Yokohama, supported by Co-Lead City, City Government of Makati Click here for a list of Disaster Cluster members The Disaster Cluster utilizes CITYNET’s network to share information and promote city-to-city cooperation with the aim to decrease disaster risk and improve capacity in disaster preparedness among member cities.
