Project SummaryNeeds in disaster preparedness education in schools in Nepal have been increasing since the earthquake that shook the country in April 2015. On the other hand, according to surveys conducted through the Disaster Prevention Education and Awareness project, school teachers expressed that despite their interest in disaster preparedness education, they do not have the knowhows nor the knowledge to conduct trainings. Given this background, this project aims to nurture school teachers to train children in disaster preparedness, while developing and distributing unique educational materials and programs in disaster preparedness, based on the knowhow and expertise of Plus Arts NPO gained through their years of work in South East Asia and Latin America.
Project ObjectiveThe objective is to integrate disaster preparedness education in the school curriculum in the 4 target schools, using the educational material developed through this project.
